A Lost Month

Blog > MJ > 10/20/09

As if awaking from a coma, I stare at my "Amazing But True Golf Facts" daily calendar in disbelief. What the hell happened to the last month? I'll tell you where it went. Work, work, more work, and a little sleep. There has been precious little time for recreation including golf. Not that my golf game of late has provided any satisfaction. Slice, pull, more slice, with some occasional brilliance thrown in. Sigh!

Due to masterful federal fiscal policies, my company is experiencing a post cash for clunkers production spike as automotive manufacturers replenish depleted inventories of vehicles for a depleted group of buyers. When I was in the Air Force we called this "hurry up and wait". As a result, the team is exhausted due to mandatory overtime from not being able to find reliable workers in an economy where unemployment has more than doubled. Apparently unemployment compensation pays well enough to keep people sitting in front of their widescreen. But, I am sure the extra income earned by our associates will stimulate the economy throughout this quarter.

However, the last couple of days have been positive. I have found the solution to my Jekyll and Hyde slice, which I will write about soon, and can advise fellow golfers not to use yellow Almost Golf practice balls during autumn as the leaves are falling. Oh! And the real impact of tampering with the economy.

Did I mention that my company mainly supplies Japanese auto manufacturers?
